Early blossom for Open Gardens!

The TVACAA’s annual Open Garden Scheme has enjoyed an early blossom with our opening weekends in Higher Denham and the Bluebell Walk in Hungerford receiving their best ever turnouts! The Bluebell Walk in particular received excellent support with proceeds and donations on the day raising over a staggering £7,000 for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance and the Genesis Appeal. The weather was very much on our side and proved a treat for visitors exploring the 30-acre Shefford Woodlands which is carpeted with bluebells every spring. Maidenhead Golf Club ’round’ off tenure

This time last year, Brian McGinley and Caroline Cope were elected the Men and Ladies Captains at the Maidenhead Golf Club in Berkshire and together adopted the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance to be one of their Chosen Charities of 2013. The two captains visited the TVACAA at RAF Benson in March last year and informed us of the various fundraising activities they would be undertaking during their tenure as club captains. The club’s 800 plus members were all involved in a number of events and activities, including Charity golf days & competitions, Captain’s evenings and prize raffles, all of which proved to be very successful....

Stubbings House to open Saturday 24th June!

By popular demand, Stubbings House in Maidenhead will be opening for an additional day on Saturday 24th May! A beautiful stately garden set in woodlands around the 18th Century Stubbings House, home to Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands in the 1940’s.  Lovely open parkland and lawns, with extensive southerly views and woodland walks. Don’t miss the specimen trees, including 250 year old cedars and a wonderful araucaria, also the glorious 70m herbaceous border backed by a wisteria covered garden wall.
