Night-time flying takes Air Ambulance into new era 23rd September 2014: Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance (TVACAA) has today announced its commitment to full night-time flying. Together with its operational partner Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA), the Charity will extend its relationship with Bond Air Services Ltd, upgrading to a new helicopter with full night flying capability. On the 17th July 2012, just over a year ago, I was involved in a very serious motorcycle crash and had to be airlifted by the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance. I was on my way home from work, travelling on my motorcycle, when suddenly I was involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming a car. Despite the heavy collision, I actually remember the crash and as I laid on the floor I knew instantly my leg was badly broken.
