Open Gardens 2009

Welcome to our Open Gardens for 2009

Last year, our very generous garden owners, our valued supporters and our volunteers together raised over £18,000 for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

Our Open Garden leaflets for 2009 have been distributed in garden centres, libraries etc however you can call the Trust on 0300 999 0 135 and a copy will be sent to you, or you can simply read though the complete schedule on this web site.

Within our scheme this year we have an extremely varied programme with several large estate gardens, a Fifteenth Century Merchant's Town house garden on the original burgage plot, and many afternoons where you will have 4 or more lovely gardens to see, together with award winning allotments in Aylesbury!

Alongside our usual scheme we have two ‘private visits’ scheduled this year,  a private visit differs in that you will need to apply to purchase your tickets prior to the event – please see details below.

The Bunch in Wooton Underwood, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire which will open on Wednesday June 24th for details please call 0300 999 0 135

Old Thatch,  in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire which will be open on Friday July 3rd from 2.00 – 5.30.  This lovely two acre newly designed garden, once the home of Enid Blyton, has now been brought back to life by owner and garden designer Jacky Hawthorne.  With stunning and unusual planting, cottage, formal and water gardens, and rose walk all linked by long vistas and swirling paths this is a beautiful garden in which to spend the afternoon.  Please apply as soon as possible for your tickets to:  Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust , (Old Thatch), Cedar Court, Grove Business Park, White Waltham, SL6 3LW . Please make your cheque for £5 per person, payable to TVAC and please enclose a clearly written stamped addressed envelope in order that we may forward your private visit tickets and map.

Would you like to help

If you would like to help at any of our events then please contact us on the above number, we have currently a small band of fantastic helpers who give their time to help us at the gardens, we would love our band to grow! We need volunteers to assist with taking the entrance fees or helping with teas.  Please do contact us if you are interested.
