Early blossom for Open Gardens!

The TVACAA’s annual Open Garden Scheme has enjoyed an early blossom with our opening weekends in Higher Denham and the Bluebell Walk in Hungerford receiving their best ever turnouts!

The Bluebell Walk in particular received excellent support with proceeds and donations on the day raising over a staggering £7,000 for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance and the Genesis Appeal.

The weather was very much on our side and proved a treat for visitors exploring the 30-acre Shefford Woodlands which is carpeted with bluebells every spring.

The Bluebell Walk first opened for the TVACAA in 2012 and has since become a highly anticipated event. As well as taking the opportunity to enjoy the serene Berkshire countryside during Bluebell season, it was a delight for our team to greet so many visitors who were visiting Fishers Farm to support the chosen charities.

Owners Mary and Henry Wilson, who for the past six years have organised the Bluebell Walk to support charitable causes, said: “Last year we almost raised £5,000 and were hoping we could exceed that amount this year to support charity. I think we all, with the help of the bluebells and undoubtedly the weather (!), did very well indeed. Many thanks go to all the helpers who helped to run and make this year’s Bluebell Walk such a successful day!”
