The Pilots
The pilots ensure that the medical team can get to emergencies and the patients get to hospital as quickly as possible.
The Engineer
The Air Ambulance is maintained by Bond Air Services Ltd www.bondairservices.com
The Paramedics
Our highly trained paramedic crew has a wide range of specialist skills so they can cope with all situations. As well as often being first on the scene – which can involve making life or death decisions – they understand the needs of the patients and their families and will handle everything in a sensitive manner.
The paramedics are provided by South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust and have excellent training in navigation and safety skills.
The Doctors
The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, shared with our sister Air Ambulance the Hampshire and
Isle of Wight, has a regular doctor-led crew. Delivering enhanced medical care in their helicopter emergency missions, our onboard Doctors bring specialist medical skills at the highest level to the patient.
A Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) experienced doctor is available for the critical Air Ambulance flights, which improves patient outcomes and benefits the communities we serve. The presence of a doctor on board the Air Ambulance provides a further depth of medical knowledge and the ability to carry out additional medical procedures.
